On the 19th of September 2025 at 2pm, our school had the privilege of welcoming Akkaash, a wildlife conservationist, for a sustainability talk. This special opportunity was made possible thanks to the efforts of Ethan Schaap, the leader and project manager of our F1 team, together with MCM’s head of Well-Being, Mr. Treloar. Both of them worked hard to reach out to the Wildlife Conservation Society and successfully persuaded them to visit our school.

Akkaash shared valuable insights on sustainability, the importance of protecting the endangered Malayan tigers and also the different threats Malayan tigers face, for example poaching, deforestation, road accidents and habitat loss. They also introduced us to some of the special tools they use to capture images of the animals in the jungle, and we even had the chance to hold one of these tools ourselves. The tool we all had the chance of holding was the camera trap, it is used to conduct wildlife monitoring, estimate species populations, study animal behaviour and also movement patterns.
Before we waved goodbye to them, we proudly presented them a cheque of RM1140 that was raised through our F1 charity drink sale that lasted over 2 days as a contribution to support their conservation efforts. Handing over the cheque was a proud moment for our team, as it symbolised the collective effort, teamwork and dedication of our school community to making a real difference beyond the classroom.
