On 5th September 2025, Harimau Racing Racing Team collaborated with Pertubuhan Sahabat Hutan Bakau Pulau Tanjung Surat (PSHBTS) at the Pulau Tanjung Surat mangroves, learning about their importance and giving back through volunteering by planting seeds. It was a meaningful experience that reminded us how vital mangroves are for the environment, and we are proud to have contributed together as a team.

The process was simple but very impactful. We filled a black plastic bag with holes with wet mud and carefully placed a mangrove propagule deeply lodged inside it, ensuring it was firmly rooted to begin its growth journey. 

Mangroves take several years to mature, and require the farmers’ dedication to constantly water and take care of it. Even at the early stages, they play a vital role for the ecosystem. They provide habitats for a wide range of wildlife, contributing to raising awareness about conservation and even help preserve the natural environment for endangered species such as the Malayan tiger by protecting coastal forests.

Beyond this, mangroves act as natural barriers against tsunamis and coastal erosion, storing carbon and improving the resilience of ecosystems against climate change. It was an insightful and satisfying experience for everyone on the team.
